The LoveMore Movement images are © Sarit Z Rogers of Sarit Photography. Sarit is the co-founder of the LoveMore Movement along with her husband, Joseph Rogers. Sarit has been photographing individuals over the past couple of years whose work is seeped in service, compassion, and kindness: these are individuals leaning toward suffering rather than pulling away. They are people who have dedicated their lives to helping others through activism, academia, and social service. The intention of this movement is to encourage people to get involved in their communities and finding ways to give back. We want to celebrate the unseen and share the voices of those working in service.
Another piece of this puzzle is the need for self-care and reflection. As the project unfolds, we will feature ways in which the LoveMore Posse participates in self care and reflective actions. Change happens one small step at a time. Remember, small acts of change by many are more effective than trying to change the world on our own and often times, that change has to occur within ourselves.
Rumi says, "Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today, I am wise, so I am changing myself."
Stay tuned, as Sarit compiles images for the book and adds them to this gallery. She has several people on her list to photograph, however, if you know of someone you feel would be appropriate for the book, please don't hesitate to email Sarit at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can help support the movement and the completion of the book by purchasing a tee, sticker pack and/or patch. Head on over to the SHOP and check it out! We donate part of every sale to one of several organizations.
